2026 - Edition 4, Term 2

Year 10 and Year 12 Italian students visited the Rome exhibition at Melbourne Museum before heading to Lygon Street for an Italian lunch and passeggiata. The excursion connected classroom learning with language, culture and history.

Year 12 VCE VM students have been applying their learning through hands-on community experiences, including delivering engaging numeracy lessons at St John’s Primary School and supporting Grade 3–4 students. They are also contributing to the Veterans Biographies project, with the first published biography on the Virtual War Memorial Australia.

Year 7 students explored Melbourne’s cityscape on the City Patterns excursion, linking geometry with culture and history. They identified angles, symmetry and transformations in architecture at key sites including Federation Square, St Paul’s Cathedral and key city precincts, and Indigenous perspectives.

Unit 3 Physical Education students gained first hand experience in sports science during a visit from METS Performance. Through specialised fitness testing, students explored key VCE concepts and saw how performance data is used to analyse and improve athletic performance.

Year 8 students showcased their learning at the Elevate and Explore Parent Presentation afternoon, sharing student-led workshops under the theme of Entertainment. Families experienced creative projects highlighting growth mindset, critical thinking and confident communication.

The College has introduced Paw Pals, an 8-week animal-assisted wellbeing program designed to support student wellbeing through calm, structured sessions with trained therapy dogs. The program helps students feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Students participated in a seven-week Cooking Engagement Program delivered by Frankston City Council Youth Services, developing practical cooking skills, teamwork and confidence. The program supported wellbeing, strengthened connections to learning, and encouraged positive engagement through shared experiences.

Following the Whole College Mass recognising the Eucharist and Refugee Week, students took part in a House-based service activity, preparing care packages for their House charities. Supported by funds raised for the upcoming Mission Action Day, the initiative connected faith, compassion and action.

Year 10 student Tina S has gained valuable insights through her volunteering with the Community Companion Food and Outreach Van. Her experience highlights the power of kindness, empathy and community service in creating meaningful connections and supporting those in need.

JPC athletes delivered outstanding cross country performances across recent SIS and All Schools competitions, with strong individual results and team success. Highlights included multiple podium finishes and JPC being crowned Division B champions after a dominant day of racing.

John Paul College aerobics teams have delivered outstanding performances at the State Championships, with multiple teams and athletes qualifying for the National Championships. The teams represented the College with skill, energy and determination, and will now prepare for Nationals on the Sunshine Coast in August.

John Paul College has been named one of only two Frankston City 2026 Schools Tree Day Environmental Ambassador Schools. Students will help plant 600 indigenous plants, support local biodiversity and take part in environmental education experiences that promote sustainability and stewardship.

Throughout Reconciliation Week, the College recognised and celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through learning experiences, a Sorry Day Ceremony, classroom displays and PE activities, including a modified version of Marn Grook using possum skin balls.

Semester 2 payments for the John Paul College Chartered Bus Service are due by Monday 13 July 2026. To secure your child’s seat, payment of $725 per student must be made via TryBooking. Unpaid seats may be reallocated to other students.
