Chelsea M (Year 11) has achieved an outstanding result on the international cheerleading stage, helping her team place fourth in the world at The Summit in Orlando, Florida.
The Summit is a prestigious end-of-season all star cheerleading championship held at ESPN Wide World of Sports and run by Varsity All Star. Teams must qualify by earning a bid throughout the season, with the event bringing together elite teams from across the United States and around the world.
Representing Evolve All Stars Melbourne, Chelsea competed with her team, Lady Danger, in the Open Level 3 International division. After delivering a “hit zero” performance with no deductions on the first day of finals, the team was ranked third out of nine teams. They went on to finish fourth in the world following the final round of competition, an impressive achievement in a division that also included co-ed teams.
The result followed more than 16 months of preparation, with the team training up to five times a week while balancing school, work and other commitments. Their journey also included competing in The Summit Celebration in Tampa, Florida, where Lady Danger secured first place after another flawless performance.
During their time in the United States, the team also trained at several renowned gyms, including Cheer Athletics in Dallas, Brandon All Stars in Tampa Bay and Top Gun All Stars Orlando.
Chelsea’s international campaign was a demanding one, involving 40 hours of air travel, 30 hours of bus travel, 30 hours of training and competition preparation, and countless early starts and long days. Her dedication, resilience and determination throughout the experience have been exceptional.
The College congratulates Chelsea on this remarkable achievement and looks forward to seeing what she accomplishes next.
