Celebrating Teacher Aides at John Paul College

Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week was proudly celebrated at the College, recognising the vital contributions of our Learning Support Officers (LSOs). Staff and students shared their gratitude for the essential role LSOs played in supporting student learning, inclusion, and wellbeing.

Meet more of our After School Study Program tutors for 2025! These dedicated past JPC students return each week to support our students with their studies, bringing experience, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to helping every student succeed.

Workplace and Community Learning with VET

Year 10 VET Workplace Skills and Year 11 VET Community Services students recently embraced hands-on learning. From exploring business at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie to volunteering at Our Village, students gained practical skills while making a positive impact in the community.

Year 11 Formal – A night to remember

The Year 11 Formal was a night of celebration, dancing, and shared memories. With an electric atmosphere on the dance floor, plenty of fun in the Photo Booth, and awards to finish the evening, students enjoyed an event that will be remembered as a highlight of their school year.

Blooming creativity at Arts Night

Arts Night celebrated creativity and growth with the theme Bloom – A celebration of identity, growth and the journey of becoming who you are. Students showcased Visual Arts, Product Design, and Visual Communication, while Music, Dance, and Drama performances captivated the audience.

A memorable Bendigo Camp for Year 12 VM

Year 12 Vocational Major students enjoyed a memorable camp in Bendigo, planned through their Numeracy classes. Highlights included rollerblading, laser tag, a campfire BBQ, and exploring the Central Deborah Gold Mine. A great way to celebrate the end of their Year 12 journey.

Book Week Adventure at JPC

Book Week brought the theme Book an Adventure to life at JPC, with students racing through cryptic clues, escaping puzzles, crafting in MakerSpace, and testing their knowledge in quizzes and competitions. The week sparked imagination, teamwork, and a love of reading.

Year 8 Retreat fosters connection, creativity, and kindness

The Year 8 Retreat, themed Pilgrims of Hope, gave students a break from routine to connect, create, and build community. Through activities like making bracelets and affirmations, they developed trust, communication, and collaboration, embraced kindness, and strengthened relationships.

The College proudly hosted its annual Father’s Day Breakfast, bringing together students, dads, carers, and special father figures. Guests enjoyed a shared meal, meaningful time together, and an inspiring address from alumnus Trent Kniese, making it a memorable community celebration.

John Paul College students have excelled across state and national sporting events, from gold medals at the National Aerobics Championships to strong performances in Athletics, AFL, and Netball. Their achievements highlight talent, teamwork, and JPC pride.

Something of Love - a poem by Oliver W

A few weeks ago, Oliver W (Year 10) quickly jotted down the first six lines of this poem in an old journal. Over the following days, he expanded and reshaped it into a more finished piece. Although the structure changed several times, two things always remained: the rhyme between “wind” and the first syllable of “vindicate,” and the poem’s overall purpose. Oliver’s work was inspired by When You Are Old by William Butler Yeats, which explores a pure, transcendent love that ultimately slips away. His poem focuses on the second part of that idea - love that fades or escapes.

Celebrating Izabella’s Junior Matildas achievement

The College congratulates Year 10 student Izabella R on her selection in the extended squad for the CommBank Junior Matildas, ahead of the ASEAN U-16 Girls’ Championship in Indonesia - a milestone achievement in her inspiring football journey.

2026 Chartered Bus Registration

Online registration for the 2026 Chartered Bus service opens Monday 13 October 2025 at 7:00am. Seats are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Families will receive a TryBooking link early in Term 4 to secure tickets.
