The College congratulates Year 10 student, Izabella R, on her remarkable achievement of being named in the extended squad for the CommBank Junior Matildas, ahead of the ASEAN U-16 Girls’ Championship 2025 in Indonesia this August.
Izabella’s selection places her among 33 of Australia’s most talented young footballers, all vying for a place in the final 23-player squad to represent the nation. This opportunity marks a significant milestone in her sporting journey, giving her the chance to step onto the international stage in the green and gold. It follows her recent representation of Victoria at the CommBank Emerging Matildas Championships in Sydney in July, where she scored an absolute cracker of a goal.
At club level, Izabella plays for South Melbourne FC in the NPL Victoria Women’s competition, where her skill, vision, and commitment in the midfield have earned her respect and recognition. She continues to develop her game through dedication, training, and consistent performances, already making her mark in senior-level competition.
Izabella’s achievement is a testament to her passion for the sport, her relentless work ethic, and the support of her coaches, family, and teammates.
