John Paul College students have continued to excel across a range of sporting competitions, representing the College with pride, determination, and outstanding teamwork.
Thirteen students travelled to Hobart to compete in the Schoolaerobics™ Australian National Championships, an event that challenges students to build fitness, confidence, and self-esteem through dance and aerobics. Their efforts were rewarded with excellent results:
At the SIS Division A Athletics Carnival, 64 students competed strongly in both individual and team events at Casey Fields. Highlights included Lily Lambert’s dominant win in the U16 Girls 1500m, finishing over 100 metres ahead of the field.
JPC also celebrated a number of first-place finishes:
JPC finished fourth overall, ensuring the College remains in Division A for 2026.
In early August, 34 girls from Years 7–12 competed at the State Netball Centre, recording several wins across all divisions. The Junior team achieved three wins from five games, while the Intermediates secured four from six. Shortly after, the boys took to the courts in Knox, playing with determination and teamwork despite challenging conditions.
John Paul College proudly entered four teams across Years 7 and 8 in the Southern Region AFL 9s competition in Highett. The Year 7 Girls team progressed to the State Championships, held on 10 September at Footscray Park. The team of 12 students played strongly, winning three games and drawing one to reach the final against Patterson River. Despite a narrow loss, it was a fantastic achievement and a credit to their determination and teamwork. The College congratulates all students who represented JPC with skill, pride, and sportsmanship, along with their coach, Ms Pearson.
Our Year 9 and 10 boys earned a place in the Herald Sun Shield, Australia’s longest-running school football competition that brings together the top private, public, Catholic and independent school teams from across the state, after securing the SIS Intermediate Boys AFL pennant in Term 2.
The team of 26 players displayed outstanding determination, winning two games to finish on top of Pool B before bowing out in the Semi Final.
Despite the extremely windy conditions on the day, the boys represented JPC with pride and teamwork.
The College congratulates the Junior Boys Football team on their SIS Grand Final victory against Padua College. In a hard-fought match, the team secured the premiership with a 57–37 win, showcasing great skill and teamwork.
