Child Safe Standards Policies

As a Catholic school which honours the charisms of its two founding orders – the fcJ Sisters and the Society of Mary (Marianists) - we have a mission-driven, moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and secure environment for children and young people and to protect them from all forms of abuse and neglect. We are steadfast in our resolve to honour this responsibility.

The following documents particularly relate to our commitment to the Child Safe Standards:

Information relating to Catholic Education’s commitment to the Child Safe Standards is also available on the CECV Child Safety website.

The John Paul College community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.

At the heart of John Paul College is a desire for the full flourishing of each student, across religious, physical, cognitive, emotional and social domains.

Formal recognition of student achievement occurs in whole school assemblies, House assemblies, the Annual Awards Evening in December and the Awards Assembly in February. Students are recognised and celebrated for:

  • Achieving academic excellence
  • Demonstrating exemplary learning skills and work habits
  • Exemplifying personal faith and values enabling them to contribute to the spiritual life of the College
  • Exemplifying leadership and teamwork
  • Exemplifying courage, generosity, community and perseverance
  • Making outstanding contributions to community service, sport and music
  • Portraying personal qualities enabling them to overcome obstacles and setbacks.
