A memorable Bendigo Camp for Year 12 VM

16 September 2025

Last week, the Year 12 Vocational Major students embarked on their overnight camp to Bendigo. What made this experience especially rewarding was that the camp had been planned and organised by the students themselves as part of their Numeracy classes.

After setting up camp upon arrival, students headed into town for lunch before visiting Fun Zone, where they enjoyed rollerblading, laser tag, and plenty of laughter. The evening was spent sharing a BBQ dinner and relaxing around the campfire.

The following day, the group explored the Central Deborah Gold Mine, descending 61 metres underground to learn about the history of mining, workplace safety, and the tools once used by miners. Students also had the chance to tour the museum and try their hand at gold panning.

The camp provided a memorable way for students to celebrate the end of their Year 12 journey. Sincere thanks go to the staff who supported the trip and helped make it such a valuable and enjoyable experience.
