Proudly continuing our sustainability journey, new vegetable garden planter boxes have been installed outside the Food Technology building.

The garden beds, supplied by ModBox, are wicking beds - a smart and sustainable design that stores water at the base and allows plants to draw it up as needed. This reduces water waste and ensures the plants stay hydrated, even during school holidays.

Year 8 Elevate and Explore students recently presented their end of semester projects through student-led workshops on the theme Change Over Time. From fashion to navigation, each project showcased critical thinking, creativity, and communication in a celebration of learning and growth.

Year 9 students recently embraced the Melbourne Urban Student Experience (MUSE), an immersive week of hands-on learning set in the heart of the city. In small teams, students navigated Melbourne’s CBD as part of the City Search Quest, answering questions and capturing photos at key landmarks. Alongside this, they explored a self-selected hypothesis through a research project.

Exceptional results at the Victorian State Finals have seen several of our Aerobics teams qualify for the National Championships in Hobart this August.

John Paul College was proudly represented by 18 students at the Victorian All Schools Cross Country Championships at Bundoora Park. Runners tackled distances between 3km and 8km on a course known for its tough hills and demanding conditions.

It’s been a big semester for sport at JPC! With over 300 students involved, highlights included two SIS Pennant wins, a record-breaking Cross Country run, strong showings at SIS Carnivals and major events, and Aerobics teams qualifying for both States and Nationals.

This term, Year 5 students from local Parish Primary schools joined John Paul College for hands-on transition mornings. They explored exciting Science experiments like elephant toothpaste and flame tests, and created tasty mini pizzas and yoghurt bowls in Food Technology, sparking curiosity and building confidence.
