Time truly does fly, as it has been a year since John invited me to join John Paul College as Deputy Principal of Learning and Teaching. I take immense pride in the progress of our school community during this time. Our shared commitment to empowering students through education has resulted in exciting developments.
We embraced cutting-edge technologies, incorporating AI tools like ChatGPT feedback to enhance comprehension and refine assessments.
In our pursuit of empowering students to shape their future, we have introduced for 2024 VCE VET subjects and provided Year 8 students with the autonomy to choose their Arts and Technology subjects, nurturing their individual passions.
A significant achievement was the opening of two new buildings, the Chaminade Centre for Senior Students and a new Food Technology space, addressing the growing demand for our popular Food subject and the need for a dedicated space for our VCE students.
Our connections with educational institutions, from feeder primary schools to Catholic Secondary Schools, have enriched our understanding and inspired improvements for 2024. Thriving programs, such as expanded after-school tutoring and Professional Learning Communities, contribute to our continuous growth.
Despite industry-wide staff shortages, we addressed this challenge with a successful New Teachers' Prospective Evening, attracting educators and support staff to our vibrant community.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff, especially the Senior Learning and Teaching Team, for making JPC a vibrant centre of learning.
To our students, congratulations on your achievements this year. The work you produced was truly inspiring, showcasing your dedication and commitment.
Looking ahead, our focus remains on students, their growth, and enhancing their educational experience. Exciting initiatives are planned for 2024, and I am eager to witness and contribute to another year of progress.
