John Paul College recently celebrated Maths Week, a vibrant week of activities that encouraged students to explore mathematics in creative and practical ways.
The week featured the Daily Quiz Challenge, Digital Breakout Competition, Double 9s Orienteering, and the crowd-favourite Rubik’s Cube Speed Solve. Year 7 and 8 students participated in the World of Maths incursion, engaging in hands-on problem-solving activities that brought maths to life.
A highlight of the week was the Year 11 Numeracy Amazing Race, where students navigated the streets of Melbourne using compass directions and clues to solve puzzles and answer questions for their first numeracy assessment. This unique experience combined teamwork, critical thinking, and real-world application of numeracy skills.
The week concluded with the Australian Mathematics Competition, giving students an opportunity to showcase their problem-solving excellence.
