In June this year, over 3,000 students from across Australia took part in the Australian Science Innovators Junior Science Olympiad exam - a national competition designed to challenge and inspire young science enthusiasts. This exam is a key stage of the Australian Science Olympiads, a prestigious enrichment program that encourages secondary students to extend themselves beyond the standard curriculum through advanced science exams, extension programs, and opportunities for international representation.
John Paul College proudly celebrates the achievements of our participating students from Years 7 -10, with special recognition for two outstanding students:
Denzel O (Year 8) received a High Distinction, placing in the top 10% of students nationwide.
Emily S (Year 9) earned a Credit, placing in the next 30% - a fantastic result in a highly competitive field.
The Junior Science Olympiad exam covers topics across Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, and Physics. It is designed to stretch students’ thinking and reward those with a passion for scientific inquiry.
We commend all our students who embraced the challenge and represented JPC with enthusiasm and determination. Their success reflects the College’s commitment to fostering excellence in STEM and encouraging students to pursue their curiosity beyond the classroom.
