At John Paul College we believe in the full flourishing of each student in line with our College Mission and Values: “With Him is the fullness of life” (Jn 10:10).

Strategic Plan (2022-2025)

The College's Strategic Plan guides our work to improve student outcomes through targeted improvement strategies and is intended to be enacted over a four-year period, 2022-2025.

The Strategic Plan was formulated as a response to the data and insights gained through the consultative processes of the College Review in 2021. The College Review provided an opportunity for the College, under the guidance of external reviewers and in line with Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) processes, to seek feedback from students, parents/guardians and staff in the areas of Religious Dimension, Learning and Teaching, Student Wellbeing, Leadership and Management and School Community.

Our Strategic Intent

We will embed consistent, purposeful strategies that engage our staff and students in high quality teaching and learning, holistic education and authentic student agency.

Our Strategic Intentions

STUDENT AGENCY & VOICE

To increase student reflection on their progress and participation in school decision-making.

QUALITY TEACHING

To build the capacity of teachers in teaching practice, curriculum documentation and use of data.

CLARITY OF PURPOSE

To have a shared understanding about the link between individual roles and responsibilities and the College mission, goals and vision.

Building for the Future - 10 Year Masterplan

The College has developed a Masterplan for improvement and expansion of facilities over the next 10 years, ensuring our 14 hectare grounds and buildings meet the demands of an advancing curriculum. Stage 1 of the College Masterplan commenced mid-2021. Designed by leading Melbourne Architects, ClarkeHopkinsClarke and built by leading builders Melbcon Pty Ltd the works include the development of a new double storey Learning and Teaching Building, the Chaminade Centre and the refurbishment to the exsisting Food Technology Building.

Chaminade Centre

Our new senior learning building was completed in early 2023, providing a tertiary-style learning environment for our Year 10-12 students. The modern double storey building includes 11 classrooms, break out spaces, study nooks, a large presentation space, meeting rooms, common area, staff offices, accessible bathrooms, and lift, complemented by covered outdoor spaces for learning and relaxing. The light-filled, open plan design, features glass walls, state-of-the-art technology, and modern furniture and lighting.

This new building is setting a high standard for what contemporary education should look like

Food Technology Building

The refurbished Food Technology Building opened for culinary exploration in Term 3 of 2023. The state-of-the-art facility boasts three separate theory classrooms, two large kitchens equipped with cutting-edge appliances, a spacious food preparation and storage room and a productive garden to allow our students to grow their own ingredients and develop a deeper understanding of farm-to-table practices.

“These new works will provide students now and into the future with more collaborative and specialised learning spaces within a modern environment.”
