Mission Action Day

Every year, students at John Paul College come together on Mission Action Day (MAD) for a day filled with activities, delicious food, entertaining games, vibrant music, and captivating performances. The purpose on MAD is to raise funds for our House Charities. Rooted in our Catholic Social Teachings, this event emphasises the importance of collective action for the Common Good, fostering the wellbeing of individuals in both our local community and the broader world. Mission Action Day embodies this principle, encouraging a spirit of generosity towards others.

During Mission Action Day, our students dedicate their time, creativity, and efforts to organise and execute various events, alongside making contributions.

House Charities

St Anne’s Winter Shelter

The Winter Shelter is a local church initiative that provides crisis shelter for the homeless in the Frankston area. St Anne’s parish Seaford works together with churches in the local area to provide food and shelter for those in immediate need, to provide a safe place where the love of Christ is demonstrated and to bring together the local churches in a unified purpose; to raise awareness of the issues in our local area.

Caritas

Caritas Australia works hand in hand with the most marginalised communities in Australia and overseas, to confront the challenges of poverty. Caritas helps to strengthen and build locally-led programs, so that all people are working together, with shared hope and compassion, to reach their full potential.

MacKillop Family Services

MacKillop Family Services work with families and communities so that children can thrive. Programs include Out-of-home care, Disability, Youth Support, Education and Family Services. All services have a goal to prevent harm, to support healing and to respond where the need is great.

JPC Community Companion Van

The Community Companion is a food and outreach van that has been providing food, drink, necessities, conversation, and support to those less fortunate in Frankston since 2015. The van was a vision and initiative of the students of Turner House. The Companion runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings welcoming donations and volunteers from the College and greater Frankston community.
