Showcasing the power of student-led learning

01 December 2025

The College recently hosted two engaging showcase afternoons, celebrating the learning achievements of both the Year 7 Gifted and Talented class and the Year 8 Elevate and Explore students.

The 2025 Year 7 Gifted and Talented class presented their final semester Passion Projects to families, students and staff. Developed throughout the semester, these projects highlighted the group’s diverse interests, with topics ranging from dance styles, fungi and mental illness to the history of Nintendo and pollution in our oceans. The showcase was a vibrant reflection of the creativity, effort and curiosity each student brought to their work, with attendees leaving having learnt something new.

The Year 8 Elevate and Explore students shared their end-of-semester work through a series of student-led workshops. This term, students focused on developing a growth mindset, strengthening critical and creative thinking, and communicating their ideas effectively. Their efforts culminated in workshops themed Around the World, featuring topics chosen by the students, including beauty standards, video games, weapons and national animals from across the globe. Each workshop was carefully researched, designed and delivered, offering families, students and staff an engaging and interactive experience.

Both afternoons were a wonderful celebration of student growth and learning. The College congratulates all students involved.
