Harmony Week Brings Community Together

24 March 2026

Harmony Week (16–22 March) was celebrated across the College, offering a meaningful opportunity to reflect on belonging in multicultural Australia and the importance of ensuring all feel welcome, included and respected.

Students engaged in a variety of lunchtime activities, including learning traditional Sri Lankan and Greek dances, and enjoyed a vibrant outdoor concert that brought students and staff together in a shared celebration. The Maker Space hosted Harmony Week-themed creative projects, while students were invited to wear jewellery or ribbons representing their culture, alongside orange ribbons as a symbol of harmony.

International lolly bags, featuring treats from around the world, and a ‘Guess the lollies in the jar’ competition added to the festivities. Proceeds from these initiatives supported the ‘He Cares’ Mission, a non-profit organisation assisting vulnerable street children and families, particularly in Quezon City and across the Philippines.

Staff also marked the occasion with a shared lunch, bringing dishes that reflected their cultural heritage and sharing the stories behind them, further enriching the spirit of connection and community.

The week was a meaningful celebration of the diversity within the College community and a reminder that everyone belongs.
