Congratulations to Year 7 student Max R, who represented Victoria in the Junior Goalball Team at the Australian Goalball Championships in Parramatta over the term break. Max was named in the Australian All Star Junior Team, finished as the second-highest goal scorer in the junior division, and has been selected for the Australian Goalball Youth Squad - an outstanding achievement!
Max’s goalball journey began after playing blind cricket, when he and his family attended a come-and-try day hosted by a coach who also plays goalball. They instantly fell in love with the sport. Goalball is a team sport for athletes with vision impairment, where players work together to score using a ball with bells inside.
