Creative expression recognised in Arts Night Competition

28 October 2025

Congratulations to Rahul S (Year 12) and Ashton B (Year 10), whose outstanding artworks were selected as the winning entries in this year’s Arts Night Competition: Bloom.

Ashton shared, “I created a crochet bouquet of flowers for this year’s Arts Night theme, ‘Bloom’. I was inspired by how flowers come in all different shapes and colours, just like people, and how they represent the journey of growing into who we are. It took me around a month and a half to finish, so winning the competition felt really rewarding!”

Rahul reflected, “My entry for the In Bloom art competition was a tribute to Nirvana’s album In Utero, which helped me blossom into a fan of rock music and explore grunge guitar songs. The artwork had very loose planning as I tried to go with the flow, and it was a mixed medium, incorporating alcohol markers, oil pastels, and paint. The vibrant colours aim to truly encapsulate a vibrant spring day.”

Both Ashton’s and Rahul’s works were recognised for their creativity, skill, and connection to the theme. A big thank you to all students who submitted an entry — we look forward to seeing even more amazing creations next year!
