Be the boundary: phones, teens, and digital safety

12 May 2025

An unmonitored phone in a bedroom is like handing your teen a passport to an unknown world, with no supervision. When it’s behind closed doors late at night, you have no idea where they’re going or who they’re meeting online.

Setting boundaries around phone use isn’t about being controlling - it’s about creating clarity and safety. If you’re paying for the phone or data, you have every right to decide when and where it’s used.

This isn’t about taking the phone away; it’s about giving your teen the space to rest, reset, and stay safe. Phones don’t need to be with them 24/7.

Be bold, be the boundary. It’s not harsh - it’s protective, in the way only a parent can be.
