Year 9 students recently participated in WheelTalk, an engaging experience designed to build understanding of disability, accessibility and inclusion.
The session was delivered by Peter Oqunyemi, who shared his lived experience of disability and encouraged students to reflect on the importance of empathy, respect and creating communities where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
Through conversations and practical activities, including wheelchair basketball, students gained insight into some of the barriers people with disability may experience and developed a deeper understanding of the role we all play in fostering inclusive environments.
WheelTalk provided students with an opportunity to broaden their perspectives and consider how small actions can contribute to a more welcoming and respectful community.
