How does teaching and learning take shape in our classrooms? What does explicit teaching look like in practice, and how does it support your child’s growth?
Families are warmly invited to join an upcoming online webinar, What Is the MACS Vision for Instruction? Understanding Explicit Teaching at John Paul College, designed to provide insight into the instructional approach guiding learning across the College.
Grounded in the MACS Vision for Instruction, this session will explore how explicit teaching strengthens student outcomes through clear learning intentions, structured lesson design, guided practice and formative feedback. Parents will gain a clearer understanding of how lessons are intentionally sequenced, how teachers check for understanding, and how feedback supports continuous improvement.
The webinar will include practical classroom examples shared by teachers, helping families better understand their child’s experience at John Paul College. While the focus is on our College context, the discussion will also offer valuable insight into contemporary, evidence-informed teaching practices more broadly.
This session is suitable for families from all year levels and is ideal for parents interested in learning more about how our instructional model guides classroom teaching — and how they can support learning at home.
