Starting Year 12 with Purpose

23 February 2026

Our Year 12 students commenced their final year with a powerful and purposeful session led by Glen Gerreyn, Co-Founder of The HopeFull Institute. The ‘Day of Hope’ presentation centred on discipline, consistency and backing yourself - particularly when the road ahead feels demanding. Through practical strategies and honest reflection, students were challenged to view ambition as a strength and to commit to their goals with clarity and confidence.

For many, the message immediately resonated.

You spoke at JPC in Melbourne today. Firstly, I want to thank you for your incredible encouragement today. My friends and I came out of that lecture and were moved. Today, you were able to fuel my desire, and unleash my wildest ambitions… you taught me that having confidence in myself and wanting to reach my full potential no matter what it takes is in fact not a weakness. It is a strength.

Glen addressed the pressures unique to Year 12, encouraging students to embrace high aspirations while remaining disciplined and consistent in their efforts. His reminder that progress is built through daily commitment struck a chord with those weighing the length and challenge of future pathways.

I have had the dream since the beginning of high school to become a doctor… however the only thing that scared me was the years of study it was going to take. The main thing I learnt from your session today was the importance of discipline, consistency and commitment to your aspirations… Thank you for re-sparking hope in me that I thought was lost forever.

Students were also prompted to reflect honestly on the standards they set for themselves and the habits required to reach their goals. The emphasis on consistency over hype encouraged practical action.

Your message gave me a needed nudge at the right time - not hype, but a reminder to stay disciplined, focused, and honest with the standards I set for myself. I went home and locked in a day-one win by creating a vision board… progress comes from consistency and backing yourself.

Above all, the session reinforced that belief in one’s potential must be matched with commitment and perseverance.

There was not one moment I wasn’t taking down notes… You showed me that if I really want something I can do it and achieve success - I just have to believe in myself and stay committed, no matter how long it takes.
