Vision for Instruction: The Sequel

A practical Professional Learning Day, focused on refining and strengthening explicit teaching to enhance classroom impact.

Building on the success of last year’s Professional Learning Day, centred on the MACS Vision for Instruction and explicit teaching, we are pleased to once again open this opportunity to colleagues from other schools.

This year’s event, Vision for Instruction: The Sequel, continues the journey — strengthening and refining explicit teaching practice in classrooms. While the title is a nod to building on what came before, the focus is clear: going deeper, sharpening practice, and supporting teachers to embed effective strategies with confidence.

About the Day

In 2025, the focus was on introducing the Vision for Instruction and exploring the Teaching WalkThrus framework. Teachers engaged in practical workshops and began reflecting on how explicit teaching strategies could be embedded into their classrooms.

In 2026, the focus shifts to the next phase — elevating practice.

This professional learning day will centre on:

  • Practical, classroom-ready strategies aligned to explicit teaching
  • Workshops designed to deepen understanding and refine instructional practice
  • Video examples from real classrooms to unpack and analyse best practice
  • Opportunities to collaborate, reflect, and learn alongside colleagues
  • Participants will leave with actionable strategies and a clearer understanding of how to strengthen explicit teaching in their own context.

This event is designed for teachers and educators committed to strengthening their instructional practice and embedding explicit teaching approaches within their classrooms and schools.
