Principal's Desk - Thursday 12th November, Edition 11, Term 4

VCE Examinations

Our Year 12 students continue to undertake their final VCE Unit 3 and 4 exams at this time. Most are in the midst of their examinations and are remaining focussed on giving their best to show their skills and learning in these exams. Our prayers and best wishes are with all students as they strive for their best at this time.

Usually during this week, our Unit 2 VCE and Year 10 examinations would have been occurring with the students being tested on their learning during this Semester. As many would be aware, COVID-19 restrictions have meant that we could not hold those examinations and have instead opted to continue face-to-face classes to ensure we maximise the learning opportunities for this year.

Awards Evening

We have been forced to look at alternatives this year to the usual Awards Evening that occurs in early December, as restrictions will not allow us to have such a gathering. This is a shame, as it is important to us to celebrate the achievements of our students in their learning during the year. This year has been especially difficult in so many ways, so we will still award certificates and prizes, although we have to find a different way of celebrating those achievements virtually. Further information will be provided to award recipients and their families in the coming weeks as details are finalised.

2021 Unit 3/4 and Senior VCAL Commencement Program

Our Year 11 students will complete their 2020 studies this week on Friday. Next Monday 16 November, students will begin work on their 2021 studies in the 2021 Unit 3/4 and Senior VCAL Commencement Program. This program allows students and teachers to begin the learning for their 2021 classes and provides access to resources and timelines they need to achieve their best. There will usually be some tasks to complete for these classes over the school holidays. In the past this program has greatly assisted our students to start 2021 with confidence and commitment.

End of the Year

Please note that the final day of school attendance for our Years 10 and 11 students is Thursday 26 November.

Years 7, 8 and 9 students have their final day on Wednesday 2 December.

The College office will close on Thursday 17 December.
