Academic Scholarships

 

John Paul College is pleased to be able to offer a range of scholarships to both current students and those who wish to attend the College. Scholarships are offered in Years 7 to 12 in the following categories:

  • Year 7 Academic Excellence Scholarships (Prospective Students)
  • Year 8 - 12 Academic Excellence Scholarships (Current Students - No Application required)
  • Year 8 - 12 Academic Excellence Scholarships (Prospective Students)

 

Year 7 Academic Excellence Scholarships (Prospective Students)

  • Year 7 Academic Excellence Scholarships are available to students enrolled to enter Year 7.
  • Students and parents must complete an application form and students will sit an entrance examination to be held in August as a part of the process.
  • The scholarship will cover a percentage of the academic tuition fee.
  • The student’s academic results from tests conducted by John Paul College will be the major criterion for selection.
  • The successful students will need to have demonstrated an active and full participation in the life of their primary school.

 

Year 8-12 Academic Excellence Scholarships (Current Students - No Application required)

  • Year 8-12 Academic Excellence Scholarships are available to all current students.
  • All students are eligible and therefore there is no requirement for an application process.
  • The scholarship will cover a percentage of the academic tuition fee.
  • The student’s current academic record will be the major criterion for selection.
  • The successful students will need to have demonstrated an active and full participation in the life of the College.

 

Year 8-12 Academic Excellence Scholarships (Prospective Students)

Academic Excellence Scholarships will be awarded to students entering John Paul College in Years 8 to 12. The scholarship will cover up to 50% of the student’s tuition fee. Scholarships will be awarded by the determination of the Principal based upon the student’s academic record and involvement in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at their current school and/or in the wider community. All applicants will be required to complete an application form and an online application for enrolment. All shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit an interview with the Principal.

  

Instrumental Music Scholarships 

John Paul College annually offers music scholarships to high performing students and students who show outstanding potential on a musical instrument of their choice. 

Instruments offered are: 

•       Voice (Singing) 

•       Piano/Keyboard 

•       Guitar (Electric and Acoustic) 

•       Bass Guitar 

•       Drumkit  

 
There are five music scholarships offered annually. A music scholarship covers the cost of individual music lessons for twelve months.
