Celebrating Creativity at our Mother’s Day Breakfast with Alumna and Author Megan Rogers

19 May 2026

We were delighted to welcome back alumna Megan Rogers as the honoured guest speaker at this year’s Mother’s Day Breakfast.

A member of the Class of 1997 and now a bestselling Australian author, Megan shared heartfelt reflections on her journey as a writer, balancing family life, embracing creativity, and pursuing opportunities long after leaving the College gates.

Her message resonated deeply with students, mothers and families, inspiring our community to continue chasing their dreams, embracing motherhood, creativity and every opportunity life presents.

Megan has established herself as a new voice in contemporary fiction and she discussed the different elements involved in the process of creating her first debut novel, The Heart is a Star, which explores identity, family relationships and women's lives.

Before becoming a novelist, Megan built a career spanning publishing, marketing and academics including working with the State Library of Victoria. She is currently working on her next novel The Clue Keeper.

Thank you, Megan, for returning to inspire students, mothers and families, and for helping make this year’s Mother’s Day Breakfast such a memorable occasion.
