"Straw Towers" Return to list of pracs

Aim: This is an activity to construct the tallest possibly straw tower out of 20 straws.

Equipment: The equipment includes...  

• 20 straws.
• masking tape.

Method: Using 20 straws (and working in groups of 2-3) construct a tower that is as tall as possible out of straws (and masking tape).

Background knowledge: The object is to build a stable base of straws and then a structure that can support a tower. Some towers should be able to reach about 1.5m or more.
