Religious Education
While there are timetabled classes at each year level, the school also provides an environment within which the values of the formal Religious Education program are experienced. This informal atmosphere of respect and acceptance is one of the most distinctive features of the college. Another important element of the Religious Education program occurs through the residential camps, seminars and liturgies that are held throughout the student's years at John Paul College. Religious Education units, which meet the requirements of the VCE, are offered at Years 11 and 12. John Paul College offers units in Ethics and Texts and Traditions. The liturgical and prayer life of the college is supported by the presence of a College Pastoral Associate, a resident Chaplain and a number of parish clergy who are visiting Chaplains to the college. It is also supported by the encouragement of a range of community service endeavours such as fundraising to support both the local church in need (St Vincent de Paul) and the needs of people in other countries (Caritas, Pontifical Missions and other causes).
