Students' Services
Cross Age Tutoring
This program offers great reward for both
tutor and student. Many VCE students have willingly given
up one period per cycle to work with students on an individual
basis or in small groups in the class or in the library assisting
with research for future assignments. It covers the full spectrum
of the curriculum, utilising the expertise of the VCE students
where required. |

Ozanam House
A small number of senior students volunteer each year to attend
Ozanam House, run by the Society of St Vincent de Paul. In keeping
with the traditions of St Vincent de Paul, this work goes on quietly
and unobtrusively, supported by a number of staff.
Peer Support Program
A large number of Year 12 students volunteer to work with the
Year 7 Homerooms one period per cycle. A team of Year 12s work
with a Year 7 Homeroom in a structured program which aims to assist
the new students with the transition to secondary schooling. The
program also looks at issues facing young adolescents, e.g. peer
pressure.
Red Cross
In March each year a large number of students take part in the
annual Red Cross Calling door-knock of the local Karingal area.
Student Leadership
Student leadership is fostered through the Students' Representative
Council, Year 12 Leaders, Year 11 Leadership Group, together with
Class Captains for each Homeroom. House Leaders are also elected
in each year level. Each year level leadership group adopts a
significant welfare cause and focuses fundraising on helping this
cause.
Student Representative Council
The SRC consists of two student leaders from each of the year
levels and is lead by the School Captains. It is designed to be
a focal point and drawing force for student involvement and activity.
It is also a forum for the student voice on issues that concern
the student body.
Year Level Causes
Each year level adopts a cause (or causes) as the focus point
for their community service and fundraising for that year. In
recent years popular causes have included St Vincent de Paul in
its vital work in each of our parishes and CanTeen, an organisation
supporting teenagers coping with cancer's effect upon their families.
